BEWARE OF POND KOI PREDATOR'S

Koi Assassin

These guys are not your buddies! They can eat 100 young Koi in a few days of feeding. You have to do something to keep them at bay. Until your Koi get to 8-10 inches they are easy prey. The Heron eats at day, and the Raccoon at night. There are devices on the market to scare them off, but hardly any work 100%. The only guaranteed way is a pond net. You can turn milk crates upside down and place a big rock or planter on them, or leave tubes of black PVC or cement pipes in the pond.

Koi Bandit

Your new Koi are not used the real world and know nothing about predators since they have been raised in breeding ponds that are protected. They will wise up pretty fast if you can give them a chance to learn how mother nature works. I have seen heron in broad daylight, in the middle of a large city, munch away and not care. I pulled up in a friend's yard about 30 feet away in my car and the heron just looked at me and stared. I had to get out of the car before he left. Not one of his small koi were still there out of around a dozen he had just bought. You won't have to net the pond for long if you use a net. Maybe a couple of months and then the Koi are up to speed. You can then use the net to keep leaves out in the fall.

RESTRICTED PLANTS: Some states have bans on certain pond plants. Check the USDA Noxious Plants website prior to purchase. The buyer needs to beware of any regulations on plants that may be restricted. If your order gets confiscated by your state agriculture department we cannot be held responsible.

CLIMATE VARIATIONS: We guarantee our plants will arrive alive and healthy. Pond Plants grow differently depending on where you live. If you took pond plants of the same type, and planted them in different parts of the USA, each plant would grow differently. This is Mother Nature at work. We cannot guarantee that your climate will support long term growth as this varies by location. With experience you will find which pond plants thrive in your USDA Zone. Join our Pond, Watergarden and Plant Forum and ask some questions before you buy is the best advice we can give you.

SUBSTITUTIONS: We reserve the right to substitute Out of Stock plants of equal or greater value unless you specifically request otherwise in the remarks section of your order you submit. We try our very best to update the website availability and show plants that are Out of Stock.
