I wonder if the banana would ripen if it was in a pot so you could bring it in for fall?

That banana tree with the bloom was 10 to 12 ft tall. It was all we could do to dig it up without a pot. And I do not have enough high ceilings or light to try to save the bananas. But it was great to have it anyway.

Welcome to the forum, i have been with the forum for a couple of years (still learning)and everyone here has been so helpful as i consider them all experts of their ponds and how they manage to raise different fish and plants as well as the mechanical equipment. I must commend you on your greenery and your dedication these plants are beautiful and-as was said must be so rewarding, i am so envious as i have maybe five plants in with the fish and this year i am rebuilding the pond and the area around the pond. I live in British Columbia Canada and we have snow, ice for a couple of months and my hope is to have greenery around the pond that will survive the winters and grow big and healthy like anyone of yours. Thank you for your pics these are very inspiring.

We're glad to have you!! Thanks for all your nice compliments! We have all been where you are now...and its a big learning experience for sure! I had a nice perennial flower garden to begin with and then added a larger pond...which mean't digging up my entire garden and replanting. But everything I moved survived and each year I add something new. I think most of us here find this an addicting hobby...so make sure your rebuild is big enough...or you will be doing it again in a few years! LOL!! Skipper has great pond plants on this site and I purchased about 5 varieties last year that did really well all summer. You can watch the swap/trade board for pond plants as people thin them out too. Show us your pictures...we love to see them! Happy ponding!

thank you for your reply i also love your pictures you plants look very healthy and your pond looks massive. I am limited to space so i am going from a 1000 gallon to around 2000 + gallons but thanks to you all i have some fun ideas with the area around the pond as well as thepond itself. I need to buy a much bigger liner as well as a bigger pump and also going to add a skimmer. i have a bio filter and a 1500gph submersible pump. I am disabled so limited to what i can do but i so enjoy the pond, fish and plants so i will get help to make this a real treat so i as well as others can enjoy my Hobie. I do have pics on this site, not sure where i put them but in time i will find them. I have taken fresh pictures of the empty pond and area. i will do a step by step progress of this once i start. When i do any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I am on a limited pension so i have to keep costs down so it will be a few months before i can actually start the rebuild unfortunately, but the wait just makes me more excited. Thanks again to all for being so supportive and helpful.
Take care enjoy, thanks again thanks again

Sorry Lisa I just found this. A vegetable filter is a tub that has plants in it without being planted in dirt or pots. We have a filter box with a pump batting and bio balls . Water is filtered through the box then a hose takes it to the tub which has plants that the roots filter the water again. It then spouts into the pond. So it is filtered twice. My big koi need that flitration.
