« on: May 29, 2009, 09:44:09 AM »

Hi Everyone, I am Randy Tan from Singapore. I have been breeding koi since the young of 11yrs old with my grandfather. He was the one who introduce koi breeding to me. You can basically say i breathe koi, sleep koi and dream koi everyday.

I want to make use of chance to share koi breeding hobby to everyone i around the world.

Feel free to visit my website KoiBreedingTips.com or you have any thing regarding koi breeding, feel free to drop me a message, I am most willing to help

Cheer! Cheesy

Welcome to the Forum.  Do you know where I can get "spawning ropes"?

You can make your own if you can't find them to purchase Thurston.  Cut and unravel nylon rope to the length you wish and tie them all together at the top.  Or double the length, tie in the middle then unravel.  The latter might prove easier to keep the strands together.

I did that but it didn'nt work.  The rope wants to float.  I thought about putting some split shot (fishing sinker) on it to hold it down but it's too late for this year.

Yarn maybe? http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/breeding/Leong_Spawning_Mop.html

Try any local koi clubs or breeders is the only other suggestion I have so maybe someone else can chime in on where you can find some.

Google spawning brushes instead of rope.  Apparently the terminology matters.  Who knew?
